Yesterday evening, Sunday, January 15, 2017, at the Prince Sultan Center for the Disabled in Medina, we launched the first specialized workshops for the 2017 scholarship tracks, which are organized by the branch of the Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al Rajhi Charitable Foundation in the Medina region. More than 50 representatives of non-profit organizations in the region participated in it to learn closely about the support mechanisms and the updated and new paths in the Foundation and to ask questions about the difficulties they face in applying for the various grant paths. The meeting was opened by the branch director, Mr. Ali bin Saleh Al-Qazlan, by welcoming the attendees, thanking them for their interest in registering and attending the benefit, and explaining to them the workshop items for the first day. He also explained the Foundation’s keenness to empower non-profit entities by supporting them according to the Foundation’s path mechanisms. The first paragraph began with the head of the branch’s projects department, Mr. Fahd bin Faraj Al-Ahmadi, entitled “The Initiative to Develop Grant Procedures,” in which he talked about the grant mechanisms in the Foundation, which began in 2009 AD. In 2014 AD, the Foundation worked to develop the grant mechanism through a development initiative that began work. In 2016, he also explained the support mechanisms and paths in detail. This was followed by the second paragraph, which was presented by the head of the grants department in the branch, Mr. Muhammad Hassan bin Saleh Farghal, and the researcher in the department, Mr. Abdullah bin Ali Al-Qunaidi, and it was about training the participants on how to register in the “Donor” system as main or subsidiary entities. The third paragraph was about the steps for submitting projects and requesting support on the “Manih” system, which was presented by the researcher in the Grants Department, Mr. Abdullah bin Ali Al-Qunaidi, where the registration steps were presented in detail, going through all of them, and explaining each field and its inputs, and the branch’s accountant, Mr. Othman Babiker, participated in explaining the financial fields. And its requirements. The first workshop ended with receiving questions from the participants, answering their questions, and clarifying the problems they faced in registering as entities or how to submit a support request. The director of the branch, Mr. Ali bin Saleh Al-Qazlan, explained that one of the organization’s goals is to enable entities to advance themselves administratively and financially, and not just provide financial support. He also explained that developing support mechanisms and introducing some of them came primarily for the benefit of non-profit entities after studying and visiting international donor institutions.
