The Foundation sponsors the activities of the World Conference on Pioneering Experiences in the Field of Charitable Work in Mecca

With the support of the Suleiman bin Abdulaziz Al Rajhi Charitable Foundation, the Director of Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, opened yesterday the activities of the International Conference for Pioneering Experiences in the Fields of Charitable and Humanitarian Work, which is organized by Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Al-Birr Chair for Humanitarian Services in cooperation with the Muslim World League and the Al-Birr Society in Makkah Al-Mukarramah under Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect him - for two days, with the participation of an elite group of writers from countries around the world, in the historic King Abdulaziz Hall in the university city in Al-Abdiyah. The head of the organizing committee and supervisor of the Al-Barr Chair for Humanitarian Services, Dr. Khalid bin Youssef Barqawi, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the attendees and participants in this global conference, which is being held under the generous patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz - may God protect him - in the campus of Umm Al-Qura University. And in confirmation of the interest of the university, represented by the Al-Bir Chair for Humanitarian Services, the Muslim World League, and the Al-Bir Society in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, in charitable and humanitarian work rooted in the Kingdom’s society. Barqawi said: The conference sessions, which target workers in charitable organizations in the Kingdom, experts in the charitable work sector, government officials in ministries related to charitable work, donors in the charitable work sector, universities, research centers, and pioneers of charitable work in the Kingdom, include reviewing a number of examples of pioneering experiences in the charitable and humanitarian work sector in the Kingdom. different communities. It reviews the challenges, mechanisms, opportunities, and some innovative practices in the field of charitable work, and identifies new ways to enhance the efficiency of programs that serve the various issues of this vital sector. The university rector also gave a speech in which he stressed that our great religion has drawn the features of humanity in its brightest and most glorious forms, and its legislation and rulings represent many bright images of human solidarity and human compassion. Pointing out that Islam has elevated charitable work from the level of social life practice to the level of worship. After that, he honored a number of pioneers of charitable and humanitarian work, presenting a shield in honor of Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God have mercy on him. A similar shield was presented to Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Hamoud Al-Sumait - may God have mercy on him - and another shield to Sheikh Suleiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Rajhi, and a shield to Sheikh Hashem bin Abdul Salam Attar.
