The Corporation’s branch in the Eastern Province visited the Vice Dean of the University of Petroleum and Minerals to study the establishment of a project that would serve the third sector and society

The director of the branch of the Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Rajhi Charitable Foundation in the Eastern Province and the researcher in the branch, Mr. Ammar Al-Ammar, Vice Dean of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals for Applied Studies and Research, visited His Excellency Dr. Sahel Abdul-Jawad, at the university’s headquarters, to introduce the institution, its most important achievements, and the services it provides to the third sector.

The meeting began with a welcoming speech from the university vice president and praise for this initiative and visit, as well as for the charitable work carried out by Sheikh Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al Rajhi and the Foundation in the region.

The University Vice President was also introduced to a brief overview of the most important studies that were carried out with the support of the Foundation, as well as discussing means of cooperation between the University and the Foundation. The University Vice President suggested that a meeting or workshop be held within the next two weeks in the presence of the Director of the Center of Excellence for the Development of Non-Profit Entities and the Director of Al Fawzan Academy for Developing Leaders. Non-profit institutions at the university, in order to come up with a project that serves the third sector and society.

At the end of the meeting, the Vice President of the University praised the efforts made by the Foundation in serving charitable work, and welcomed the idea of ​​signing an agreement between the Foundation and the University. He was also given a copy of the studies carried out by the Foundation, which are:

1- A field study of inmates in correctional facilities and observation homes in the Kingdom, and the reasons for their return to them after leaving them.

2- A brief field study of inmates in correctional facilities and observation homes in the Kingdom, and the reasons for their return to them after leaving them.

3- Priority issues in the Dammam metropolis (Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran) in the Eastern Province.

4- Funding priorities in Al-Thokbah neighborhood in Al-Khobar, Eastern Province (field study).
