One million meals for the guests of God with the support of Al Rajhi Charity

With the support of the Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al Rajhi Charitable Foundation, the management of the “Medina Gift” project for visitors and pilgrims, affiliated with the Medina Charitable Warehouse Association, continues to prepare and distribute more than a million pilgrim meals, in addition to a million and a half bottles of water during this year’s Hajj season. This is part of the seasonal programs implemented by the association to honor the guests of God.

The general supervisor of the project, Fayez bin Talib Al-Ahmadi, revealed that the sites designated to receive those arriving and departing from the city are witnessing a large demand from pilgrims. More than 300,000 meals and 500,000 bottles of water have been distributed so far during this season, to those arriving to and departing from Medina, on the immigration road that connects Medina and Mecca, Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina, Yanbu Airport, Yanbu Port, and the Hajj City in Khaybar. Al-Ahmadi added: “The project employs 150 collaborators after their qualification, who pack and distribute the meals, including 100 individuals who collect the meal items through special machines for packing and preparing the meals, as well as 40 distributors who distribute the meals to visitors and pilgrims, in addition to 10 employees for management and supervision.” .
This support comes in fulfillment of the mission of the Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al Rajhi Charitable Foundation in providing grants to maximize goodness, achieve community growth, and empower beneficiaries with the best practices and its contribution to achieving the vision of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, which the Minister of Hajj and Umrah referred to by saying, “The Ministry is in a stage of complete and radical transformation to move from serving Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.” The visitor to the hospitality industry has an important role in the Kingdom’s ambitious vision through the program to serve the guests of God, so it was necessary for the ministry and the institutions that work with the entire Hajj and Umrah system to provide the best services to the guests of God.”

This project tells the story of a 20-year success, as it began with an initiative by Sheikh Sulaiman Al-Rajhi to provide a gift to the guests of God, “a dry meal consisting of dates, water, pie, and juice.” The project continued until a partnership was concluded between the Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Rajhi Charitable Foundation and the Madinah Charitable Warehouse Association. After the expansion of the project and the need for it, a warehouse was established on an area of ​​approximately 4,000 square meters and contains administrative offices, places for packing meals, and 10 huge refrigerators to store meals. The distribution points have recently been expanded.
