The first meeting of the NGO Council

Today, Monday, Ramadan 22, 1440, corresponding to May 27, 2019, the first meeting of the National Foundations Council was held at the headquarters of the Sulaiman #Al Rajhi_Charitable Foundation, headed by His Excellency the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al Rajhi Charitable Foundation: Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Sulaiman Al Rajhi and A. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Fayez, from the Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jomaih Charitable Foundation, as deputy and Dr. Muhammad bin Abdullah Al Majidel from the Mozn Charitable Foundation, as financial officer, and Dr. Hassan bin Muhammad Shuraim from the Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Subaie Charitable Foundation as Secretary, with the membership of M. Musa bin Muhammad Al-Mousa from the Abdul Rahman bin Saleh Al-Rajhi Charitable Foundation and Dr. Salem bin Ali Al Khazem from the Hamad bin Abdul Rahman Al Hussaini Charitable Foundation and Dr. Rashid bin Misfer Al-Zahrani from Al-Rajhi Humanitarian Foundation.
It is worth noting that His Excellency the Minister of Labor and Social Development, Engineer Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, inaugurated the councils of associations and civil institutions, on the evening of Sunday, Ramadan 14, 1440 AH, in the city of Riyadh, in the presence of a number of senior officials of the Ministry, directors of associations and civil institutions, and those interested in social development affairs.
The importance of the project to form councils of associations as well as civil society organizations comes in seeking to organize and activate the role of associations and civil society organizations to advance civil work in accordance with Vision 2030, which is within the initiative (organizing and empowering developmental social work). The Ministry has issued a regulation to form the Council of Civil Associations by Resolution No. “205256.” Dated 11/3/1439 AH, as well as a list of civil institutions by Resolution No. “205271” dated 11/3/1439 AH, which includes the policies, mechanisms and roles of the Council and its sub-councils. The Council of Civil Society Associations, as well as civil society institutions, aims to coordinate between associations as well as civil society institutions in order to achieve cooperation and integration between them, implement programs and projects to build the capabilities of civil society work and strengthen it, and provide support, assistance and advice to civil societies as well as civil society institutions, including financial and administrative consultations, and proposing policies that enable civil society work. , strategic plans, and general programs in addition to spreading the culture of civil work and raising awareness of the importance of associations as well as civil institutions, their purposes and activities, holding conferences, seminars, programs, and awareness-raising activities in this regard, issuing publications, and conducting research and studies related to civil work for all sectors after coordination with the relevant authority and cooperation with The Ministry solves the problems of associations and institutions, cooperates with relevant regional and international bodies, and exchanges information and experiences in a way that contributes to developing the work of associations and institutions.
