The Foundation holds a meeting to discuss a taxi initiative with charitable organizations

The branch of the Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al Rajhi Charitable Foundation, in cooperation with the Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al Rajhi Foundation for Development Finance, was held last Thursday 01/30/2020 AD in the presence of representatives of charitable societies to review and discuss their experience in the “Taxi” initiative implemented by them, and how to improve it and expand the number of its beneficiaries.

The meeting began with a welcoming speech to the guests by the Head of the Grants Department at the Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al Rajhi Charitable Foundation, Mr. Muayyad Al-Haddban. After that, a group of development initiatives that were presented to the beneficiaries were reviewed with the aim of converting them from pastoral to developmental, and among these initiatives was the “Taxi” initiative, which was implemented by some charitable organizations. In the Eastern Region and how to improve it and expand the number of beneficiaries from it.

*After that, the associations’ experience in this initiative was reviewed:

- Professor Youssef Al-Muqrin began by presenting the experience of the Al-Bir Association in the Eastern Province, which was presented to families benefiting from the association for people with limited income  to advance them from pastoralism to development by continuing to work and finding their own means of transportation, as well as working in other applications such as (Careem, Uber, and others) to meet their needs. Which is considered successful by all standards, and there are no defaults in payment, and if any, they are at a very small percentage.

Knowing that ownership of the car belongs to the association until its value is paid, with an emphasis on comprehensive insurance for the car.

Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Nashiri mentioned the number of cars that were delivered to the beneficiaries of the Al-Bir Society in the Eastern Province, which were (5) cars, including an orphan.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Khalidi also gave a visual presentation about the experience of the Charitable Society for Orphan Care in the Eastern Province “Benaa” in the “Taxi” project with (5) cars, which were provided to our orphans who are employees or students at the university to improve their standard of living and help them rely on themselves and improve their standard. School and praised their successful experience and their desire to participate in the Foundation’s initiative.

Mr. Ahmed Al-Zahrani mentioned that Al-Baraka Charity Association implemented this initiative, but in a different way, through donors to the association with a number of (3) cars that were delivered directly to the beneficiaries in order to facilitate their affairs and improve their standard of living.

*The CEO of the Sulaiman Al-Rajhi Foundation for Development Finance, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Khamis, presented a brief overview of the Sulaiman Al-Rajhi Foundation for Development Finance, its goals, and the initiatives it has provided to serve the people of society, especially in education and development projects for low-income people. He also reviewed the Center for Building Productive Families, Jana, and what it provides to beneficiaries of development loans for their small projects. Sheikh Mohammed Al-Khamis also mentioned that the most important elements of this initiative are (employment, guarantee, financing), knowing that empowering charitable organizations is one of the foundation’s assets to achieve the ministry’s goals. *Mr. Khaled Al-Qarni gave a visual presentation on the organization’s mechanism of work in the “Taxi” initiative and the roles required of associations and beneficiaries by guaranteeing the beneficiary and obtaining a discount from the technical intermediary (Careem, Uber, Marsool... and other applications).
