The Corporate Communication Center at the Sulaiman Al Rajhi Charitable Foundation won the Golden Sail Award for Excellence in Public Relations for the year 2023, in the private sector category of entities and institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The Advisor to the King of Bahrain for Media Affairs and Honorary President of the Bahraini Public Relations Society, Nabil bin Yaqoub Al-Hamar, in Manama, handed the award to the Head of the Corporate Communication Center at the Sulaiman Al Rajhi Charitable Foundation, Eng. Riyad bin Nasser Al-Fariji, during the activities of the 14th Gulf Forum for Public Relations Practitioners organized by the Bahrain Public Relations Society. The Saudi Ministry of Defense, represented by the General Administration of Strategic Communication, received the same award in the public sector category, and in the individuals category, Bahraini media figure Ali Hussein Sharafi.
The Golden Sail Award for Excellence in Public Relations is granted to ministries, government institutions, and the private sector who are distinguished in the field of public relations and media, in accordance with carefully established international standards and through an independent and impartial evaluation committee.
Dr. Fahd Ibrahim Al Shehabi, President of the Bahrain Public Relations Society, Secretary-General of the Award, stated that the Sulaiman Al Rajhi Charitable Foundation has achieved achievements in the field of public relations that have achieved regional leadership. It has also employed innovative and effective practices that have contributed to changing the culture of the profession and achieved outstanding results in creating a positive impact for the organization. It also developed and shared with the leadership innovative thinking that works to improve the practice of public relations to new heights, in addition to developing the skills of its employees in the public relations sector, which enhanced the institution’s chances of being nominated for the nominated award.
He added that the award is an appreciation and moral award to recognize the excellence of the public relations practice of the candidates, and comes as a culmination of the efforts of the public relations and communication departments, and in appreciation of their tangible contributions to the development of institutional communication practices. Dr. Al-Shehabi stated that the external evaluation committee for the award praised the winners, whose nomination files were distinguished, as it demonstrated to the committee the value of the initiatives and projects that were implemented, and their direct impact on the development of the public relations sector. He also wished all the winners continued success in their new role as ambassadors for the Golden Sail Award.
